If you don’t want any plot spoilers from Larry 1, I suggest you skip this paragraph. Larry 2 picks up right where the previous game ends. But, while I can ultimately say that I recommend this game, it’s not without a few reservations. I expected another sex-filled romp through the life of terminal loser Larry Laffer replete with the uproarious wit and challenging puzzles I had come to expect. It was meant as an introduction to the "quest" game style, although it is very different from the other three series (King's Quest, Space Quest & Police Quest).Fresh off my very enjoyable play through both version of Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, I was quite excited to load up the second installment in Al Lowe’s adventure game series: Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking for Love (In Several Wrong Places). There is not much more to say about the first Larry game. Al Lowe had designed Larry to evolve throughout the games, so the story of Larry is more complex than the story of many other game heroes. This game was the first of its kind to have sequels waiting. Thankfully the new remake is fully mouse-operated, so no typing is necessary. (My English typing was quite basic in those days, to say the least). Considering that I was about eight years old when I first tried the game, it is a miracle that I actually managed to complete it. This game is great fun, and it kept me busy for a long time when it was released. The plot in the game is quite simple: you have to score with a female within 24 hours. The old Larry Laffer has died, and the new one is ready to get down and boogie! One day he suddenly realises that he needs to live the good life and taste the forbidden fruit, so he goes out and buys a leisure suit and some gold jewellery. You are Larry Laffer, a 38-year-old loser who has lived his entire life at his mum's place. The game was in desperate need of some VGA assistance.
In 1991 Sierra launched a remake of Leisure Suit Larry 1. Leisure Suit Larry was created together with Police Quest 1, as a new addition to the adventure genre.
